As we know in today’s generation more than 50% of people are suffering from the diabetes. Diabetes as we all know is a lifestyle disorder. Diabetes is basically an elevated level of sugars in the blood stream. It happens due to not following the proper lifestyle.
The main causes of diabetes are obesity, lack of physical activity, heart disease, and so on. Symptoms include excessive thirst, excessive urine, and frequent urination.

As a precaution what you can do is
1 Include at least 30 minutes of walk in your daily life.
2 Take a balanced diet which means it include carbohydrates, proteins, fats and fruits.
3 Have protein rich foods like soya, pulses, kidney beans, curd, and cottage cheese.
4 Have fiber rich foods like bran, oats, barley, apple, guava, papaya, pomegranate, orange, mausami.

Some myths and facts


Myth 1: you can’t have sugars.
Fact : people with diabetes need to have a balanced diet which they can have a small amount of sugars in the diet and diet should balance in the carbohydrates and protein ratio.

Myth 2 : It only leads to only fatty individuals.
Fact : Type 2 diabetes is associated with obese people as they are being overweight which is a risk factor for developing diabetes. But about 20% of normal weight or underweight people are suffering with the diabetes.

Myth 3: All types of diabetes are same.
Fact: The most common are type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes. Each type of diabetes has different causes and managed in different ways but if one has any type of diabetes except gestational diabetes, it needs to be managed every day. Gestational diabetes goes away after pregnancy; however it increases the risk of developing type 2 diabetes later in life. All types of diabetes are complex and serious.

Myth 4: Diabetes can be prevented
Fact : Not all types of diabetes can be prevented. Type 1 is an autoimmune condition, it cannot be prevented and there is no cure. The reason behind the type 1 diabetes is still not known.

Follow the global rule of balanced diet with ample amount of fluids and be aware as awareness is the thing which leads to prevention.
