OHH VACATION!!! Just hearing the word vacation evokes so many emotions like masti, juices with tiny umbrellas, visions of relaxing at the pool side, building sand castles with so much fun.
Don’t you think vacation is a good way to relax your body and mind? It’s a good way to spend some time with your family. Giving each other a little time helps in forming strong bonds.
But there is always a challenge about how to maintain a healthy eating practice while on vacation. Don’t get worry about this. Today we will be discussing about this so that everyone is able to stick to his healthy food habits.

1. PLAN, PLAN AND PLAN

Meal planning is the best and the simplest thing to do. It not only helps you to choose healthy foods but also saves your money. Whenever you are driving to your destination always seek for the seasonal fruits and vegetables available there so that you don’t have to rush for unhealthy foods.

2. PACK HEALTHY SNACKS

See whether you are travelling either by car or flight or bus or train you should carry some healthy snacks like trail mix of almonds, dried berries, pumpkin seeds, oats. Some perishable items like apple, banana for kids, roasted grains and grams, smoothie in insulated bottles, herbal teas. It helps you to not to have processed items at railway station, airports, roadside hotels.


3. PRETEND YOU ARE EATING AT YOUR PLACE

Almost all of us think that we are on vacation, and we don’t need to cook the food but it is always a good idea to cook food by your own as it helps in reducing the intake of processed foods. 4. SKIP THE SUGARS

I think rules are rules and we must follow the same that we used to follow on our regular days. If you are going to have a treat after a long day of sightseeing or lay on the beach, make an event out of it! Try it only for the one meal don’t just make it a regular breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Increase in sugar intake not only increases your weight but also increase the restlessness.

5. PACK REMEDIES

Unfortunately, ear aches, stomach ache, sun burn, bug biting happen most of the times. So to get rid of this we must carry a small kit which includes sanitizer, bug spray, rubbing alcohol, sunscreen, ice pack, and so on.
6. DON’T STRESS

Remember, stress is the utmost challenger and we need to combat with it as vacation is supposed to be a time to relax, ease and lighten the mood and regenerate our energy. Don’t over power yourself (or your kids) up if you don’t stick to your usual fantastic regimen.
