The basic difference between curd and butter milk is the process of dilution by adding water. The more water you put in the curd, the less concentrated the butter milk becomes. Calorie content – if you are on weight reducing diet and prefer a controlled diet, you should opt for buttermilk. 100 grams of buttermilk contains 48 kcal where as 100 grams of curd contains more or less than 98 kcal. So for underweight patients we need to give curd as to increase the weight of the person.

Nutrient content – Buttermilk is rich in calcium, vitamin b12, zinc, riboflavin and so on. It helps us in keeping our bones healthy, lowering down our bad cholesterol, battling stress and anaemia.
