Hey friends! Today I thought I should share some information regarding the meals. In my overall experience I have seen many of us forget to have breakfast. I know in the morning everyone is busy in their work. Some are rushing for the work, other are busy in getting ready for the school, doing household activities. So in today’s topic I would love to share the vital role of breakfast in one’s life.

Breakfast is the first meal of the day that significantly contributes towards daily nutrient intake.

Scientifically breakfast means – breaking the fast which we keep for almost 10 -12 hours in the night. Most of the research shows that people who eat breakfast are less likely to have the problem of overweight or obesity.
It provides energy and other essential nutrients. It’s important for the person to have nutritious meal as it reenergise you for the whole day. It is an ideal opportunity to eat foods which are rich in vitamin B, folate, iron and fibre.

It helps us in improving concentration, alertness, mood and memory. Skipping of the first meal may affect you drastically. It may leave you feel fuzzy for the whole day. This is because the brain needs energy to work but when you skip your breakfast, it starves for the glucose which is the end product of every food. You can get energy from breakfast cereals, oats, fruits, milk, paneer etc.

  • A bowl of whole grain cereal with a cup of milk and fruits.
  • A delicious smoothie made from milk, fruits and yoghurt.
  • A chapatti made from leftover dal.
  • A toasted slice of bread with some cheese or baked beans.
  • Boiled eggs, poached eggs with toast and some veggies.
  • Some healthy sandwiches, curd oats.
